our story

WHEN OUR FAMILY GETS TOGETHER, WE MAKE THINGS.

It’s our way of connecting — paintbrushes and paper spread across the table, the hum of conversation, the joy of watching imagination take shape. These creative moments aren’t just about art; they’re about belonging, about growing up surrounded by love and possibility.

We’re Emily and Katie — sisters-in-law, moms, and co-founders of Happy Pixels Co. Our kids make art everywhere — at home, around the kitchen table, and at their grandparents’ house, where creativity flows as freely as the snacks. Over the years, the stacks of drawings and painted pages have grown taller, each one a tiny snapshot of who our kids were in that moment.

Like so many parents, we wanted to hold on to those little treasures — but we also couldn’t keep every scrap. So we started Happy Pixels Co. as a way to celebrate creativity without the clutter, and to turn everyday artwork into something lasting.

Each custom, heirloom-quality book we create preserves not just the art, but the memories, stories, and laughter behind it.

Rooted in Longmont and inspired by our community, we believe in slowing down, making things by hand, and honoring the small moments that become big memories. Beyond creating beautiful books, we also host art-centered gatherings that bring families together to create, connect, and celebrate the joy of making.

Because childhood passes quickly. But the art — and the stories it tells — deserve to last.
